This spicy Israeli pesto is one of our all time favorites around here! It can be eaten as a dip with carrots or chips or crackers… the sky’s the limit! Sometimes we mix it with mayo or cream cheese to make a creamier dip. It can also be turned into a salad dressing by mixing it with mayo and balsamic vinegar. There are endless possibilities when it comes to Zhoug.  And the best part…it can be made in less than 10 minutes!!!


2 bunches of parsley

2 bunches of cilantro

2 jalapeño peppers

3 or 4 cloves of garlic

1 Tablespoon of ground cumin

1 teaspoon of salt

1/2 teaspoon of pepper

3 – 4 Tablespoons of sunflower oil (more if freezing)


1) Place all ingredients into a food processor or blender.

2) Puree until smooth.

3) Eat on practically everything.
